ODL Enclosed, Add-on Blinds Eliminate Safety Hazards, Enhance Privacy
Traditional blinds can be tough to clean, cumbersome to install and can even carry safety risks. According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission
, dangling cords on blinds and shades, including those on glass doors, are one of the five leading home hazards for small children due to the risk of choking. ODL, Inc., a leading supplier of decorative and clear doorglass and entry treatments, offers cordless Enclosed and Add-on Blinds to help to solve these challenges while enhancing door privacy.
ODL’s offering of enclosed entry treatments includes traditional Enclosed Binds, which are previously built-in to the doorframe, as well as Add-on Blinds, which present an easy, add-on solution for existing doorframes. These treatments allow homeowners to control privacy, cut cleaning time and increase energy efficiency, while the cordless design protects the safety of the family. ODL Add-on Blinds offer another added benefit as well – with just a few short steps, these blinds present the perfect DIY project for the home.
“Our Add-on Blinds were designed with both safety and easy installation in mind,” says Roger Finch, senior distributor channel marketing manager, ODL, Inc. “Once a size is selected to match the existing doorglass, users simply need to loosen the screws, install the brackets, hang the blind unit and lock the clips.”
ODL’s door blinds eliminate the need for traditional cords by enclosing the blinds between two panes of doorglass, meaning they are no longer able to swing back and forth when the door is opened or closed. In addition to their enclosure, the blinds also use ODL’s innovative cordless control system, called Light-Touch®.
Light-Touch® allows users to raise, lower and tilt the enclosed blinds and shades a full 180 degrees at the touch of a finger. The control, located on the window frame, also allows for adjustment of the amount of natural light or shade in a room. This permits users to customize privacy options and regulate room temperature, resulting in increased energy efficiency.
ODL Enclosed and Add-on Blinds fit with both steel and fiberglass doors. Add-on Blinds are easily installed over existing doorglass, even on doors that feature raised or flush frames. Both blind options are available in white and tan with matching frames, and although it does not require painting or staining, the frame can be altered according to homeowner preference.
The enclosed treatments come in sizes of half- and full-doorlight as well as half- and full-sidelight, including options for 8’ doors. ODL's Enclosed Blinds feature a 20-year warranty
and Add-on Blinds feature a 5-year warranty.
