Select ODL doorglass styles reduce sound transmission from the outside, often a desired feature in densely populated areas.
ODL door glass has a Sound Transmission Class (STC) value; STC is expressed in decibels (dB) and is used to measure a building material's ability to reduce sound. Laboratory testing measures the resistance of partitions such as walls, windows, or doors to the passage of sound.
ODL conducted third party lab testing on a range of 22" x 64" doorglass configurations; ODL Severe Weather® door glass achieved an STC of 37 for clear glass and 38 for decorative glass. Custom clear door glass with an STC of 36 is also available.
